Isaiah Wright runs for 361 yards as Falcons beat Cardinals
Three years removed from a 58-8 trouncing in the 9-Player Prep Bowl to Leroy-Ostrander, Fertile-Beltrami exacted their revenge Thursday with a 60-33 won over the Cardinals to advance to the Prep Bowl for the second time in four years.
The Falcons reached the semifinals the past two seasons only to fall short and now have a chance to win the 9-Player title when they face Hills-Beaver Creek next weekend.
The Falcons exploded in the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 38-6 behind the strong running of Isaiah Wright who finished the night with 361 yards on the ground and scored seven touchdowns.
Wright had touchdown runs of 46, 59, 13, 43, 6, 56 and 38 yards. He was simply unstoppable and now has more than 2,400 yards rushing on the season. He and his Falcons were up against the state’s leading rusher in Camden Hungerholt. The Minnesota State recruit threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, but it wasn’t enough against the high-flying and high-scoring Falcons who will play Hills-Beaver Creek next weekend at U.S. bank Stadium for the 9-Player title.
